Greenhouse gas emissions in Finland
In 2007, Finland's greenhouse gas emissions totalled 78.3 Tg CO2 eq. (million tonnes of CO2 equivalent).The total emissions in 2007 were 11% (~7.3 Tg) above the level of the year 1990 . As part of the burden sharing of the EU Member States, Finland has made a commitment to keep its average emissions over the 2008 to 2012 period at the level they were in 1990. These pages describe how the national greenhouse gas inventory under the UNFCCC is implemented in Finland within the frameworks of international agreements and guidelines.
