The number of hours taught in open education at universities of applied sciences decreased but the number of participants continued to grow in 2016

According to Statistics Finland's Education Statistics, the number of teaching hours in open education at universities of applied sciences decreased by 10 per cent, but the number of participants still grew in 2016. In 2016, good one million hours were taught in open education at universities of applied sciences, which was 115,000 hours fewer than in the previous year. At the same time, the number of participants in university of applied sciences education increased by 15 per cent to nearly 44,000 from the year before.
