The election information service for the Municipal elections 2004 has been opened in Finnish on Statistics Finland's Internet site at: tilastokeskus.fi/kunnallisvaalit/2004. Starting from the night of the elections, 24 October 2004, the information will be supplemented in real time with statistics, analyses and maps as the election results are being completed. The election information service in English can be found at: tilastokeskus.fi/tk/he/vaalit/index_en.html; at the moment, it includes information on the previous municipal elections. In addition, a more extensive service subject to a charge is available to all interested parties.
The data of the service are updated in real time during the election night. When the preliminary results are completed on the election night, statistics and reviews produced on the basis of them will be published in the service.
Statistics according to the final result are released as soon as possible after confirmation of the election result. The final results will be most probably confirmed about three to four weeks from the elections, that is, in mid November. Once the result has been ratified, the next broader basic tables and statistics will be made public in the election information service.
