Output of the national economy fell in August from the previous month but grew year-on-year

Seasonally adjusted output fell by 0.7 per cent in August 2017 from the month before. Adjusted for working days, output was however 2.7 per cent higher than in August 2016. According to revised data, working-day adjusted output grew in July by 3.6 per cent (previously 3.1 per cent) from July 2016.

Description: The Trend Indicator of Output endeavours to forecast the monthly development of the national economy. It contains index series since January 1996. The data are in the form of an index whose base year is always the previous year. The data have been calculated as original and working day adjusted series for the whole economy and for three main industries. A seasonally adjusted and a trend series are also calculated for the whole economy.

Change: New seasonal adjustment software adopted

Starting from the September 2015 data, a new seasonal adjustment software JDemetra+ will be adopted in the Trend Indicator of Output.
