The most used classifications are published in Statistics Finland's Handbooks series. The Handbooks usually contain the headings of the classification (i.e. names and codes of groups), descriptions of groups and information about the use of the classification and classification principles.

The classifications are available in electronic form as Excel or ASCII files. The files are delivered to customers by email or on diskette.
The classification file generally comprises the headings of the classification but descriptions of groups and index words can be obtained on some classifications, such as the Standard Industrial Classification.
