Development of engineering design services in 2011 to 2013

Engineering design services were used most for industrial and manufacturing projects, although their share diminished slightly from 2012. The engines behind the growth were particularly building projects, where the use of engineering design services increased significantly in 2013. Eighty-three per cent of the turnover in engineering design services came from Finnish customers and 17 per cent from foreign customers. Seventy-four per cent of the turnover were generated from private sector customers.

When examining information technology services, the growth of the games industry was noteworthy in 2013. This development was influenced by the increased use of data processing and Internet server services, for example. Finnish customers were responsible for 72 per cent of the turnover in information technology services and foreign customers for 28 per cent. Eighty per cent of the turnover derived from services sold to the private sector.
