Web scraping is a data collection method by which the source code of a website is searched programmatically and the required data are extracted from it. Various characteristics and price data on products for sale are scraped monthly from online shops.

Data are collected from hardware stores operating on the web.
What are the data used for?
The data will be used in the calculation of the Building Cost Index starting from data concerning 2022.
For example, individual product numbers, names, hierarchical product group structures and prices are collected on products for sale. Price pairs are obtained for identical products compared with the previous month, from which the average price change of the product group is calculated.
