Inquiry on financial leasing

Description of the data collection

The inquiry collects data by sector, industry and object on financial leasing acquisitions, divestments, rents and remaining capital value of objects pertaining to credit institutions and other lessors.

From whom are data collected?

Data are collected direct from the lessors who, according to Statistics Finland's Business Register or the Bank of Finland's data, have had financial leasing activities.

The obligation to provide data is based on Section 14 of the Finnish Statistics Act (280/2004).

What are the data used for?

The data are used for compiling national accounts, which is based on Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council (ESA 2010 Regulation).

Data processing

The Statistics Act obliges Statistics Finland to treat the data as confidential.
