Classification standard Classification of Sectors 2012 has been adopted in the Labour Force Survey starting from 1 January 2020

The classification standard Classification of Sectors 2012 has been adopted in the Labour Force Survey where applicable starting from the beginning of the statistical reference year 2020 according to Statistics Finland’s decision (ref. TK-41-444-19). As in the previously used classification of the employer sector, employed persons are divided by employer into public and private sectors.

In the official Classification of Sectors 2012, the public sector is divided by producer type into general government and public non-financial corporations. In the Labour Force Survey, only general government is included in the public sector, and public non-financial corporations are included in the private sector.

Further information about the change in the classification and its impacts is available in the methodological description of the Labour Force Survey.
