Producer prices for manufactured products rose by 0.9 per cent in May
According to Statistics Finland, producer prices for manufactured products rose by an average of 0.9 per cent from May 2011 to May 2012. Producer prices for manufactured products sold on the domestic market went up by 2.0 per cent, while the producer prices of export goods went down by 0.3 per cent.

The Export Price Index fell by 0.4 per cent and the Import Price Index rose by 3.1 per cent in the year. The Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply went up by 3.3 per cent and the year-on-year change in the Basic Price Index for Domestic Supply, Including Taxes was 3.6 per cent.
The rise in the producer prices for manufactured products was particularly caused by risen prices of oil products, food and district heat from May of the previous year. The increase was curbed above all by lower prices of metals and electricity.
From April to May, producer prices for manufactured products fell by 0.3 per cent. The fall was mainly due to decreased prices of oil products from the previous month.
