Turnover of construction enterprises grew by nearly 10 per cent in the third quarter of 2016

According to Statistics Finland, the turnover of construction enterprises grew by 9.6 per cent and the sales volume by 7.0 per cent in July to September 2016. In the corresponding period of the previous years, turnover grew by 6.6 per cent from one year back.

Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 11.5 per cent more turnover was accumulated than in the third quarter one year earlier. The turnover of civil engineering grew by 8.4 per cent and that of specialised construction activities by 8.3 per cent.

The sales volume of construction enterprises in building construction increased by 8.4 per cent in July to September. In civil engineering, the sales volume grew by 9.9 per cent and in specialised construction by 5.2 per cent.

The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
