The statistics on local government sector wages and salaries describe the numbers and earnings of employees of municipalities and joint municipal boards by variables like industry, occupation, education, gender and age. The data derive from inquiries of Statistics Finland concerning monthly and hourly paid employees to which municipalities and joint municipal boards report annually data on their employment contracts and wages and salaries valid on the first weekday of October
