The leisure survey is an interview survey studying the population’s leisure hobbies and social participation and changes in them, as well as participation in them by different population groups. The survey also produces information on the ratio between work and leisure, social relationships and importance attached to different spheres of life. The results from the survey are public but its basic data are confidential. User rights can be obtained to them for scientific research purposes.
Age, gender, stage in life, classification of socio-economic groups, level of education, size of municipality, statistical grouping of municipalities, major region (Helsinki Metropolital Area, rest of Uusimaa, Southern Finland, Eastern Finland, Mid-Finland, Northern Finland), province.
Interview survey conducted face-to-face among the population. Additional data sources are taxation registers for income data and the Register of Completed Education and Degrees for data on education.
