Description

These statistics give the daily point figures and the monthly and annual averages of the point figures of the HEX share index by the grouping currently used by the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

The monthly and annual averages of point figures are arithmetic averages of daily point figures.

The data are public.

Data collection methods and data sources

The main data source is a table published in the Helsingin Sanomat daily newspaper (indices of the Helsinki Stock Exchange).

Updating frequency

Monthly.

Time of completion or release

Data for the previous month are ready on the first weekday of each month.

Monthly averages for the previous month are entered into the FINSERIES database on the first weekday of each month. Daily point figures and monthly averages are publishes in the next month’s issue of Monthly Series of the Financing Market publication.

Time series

Monthly and annual averages of the HEX share index in accordance with the grouping of the Helsinki Stock Exchange are available starting from 1987. Daily point figures of the index are available starting from 1991.
