In the inquiry on statistics on the activities of social services of municipalities/joint municipal boards data are collected from municipalities and joint municipal boards about the volume of social services produced, sold and purchased by them.
Data on the activities of social services are collected from all municipalities and joint municipal boards in Finland annually by mid-February following the statistical year. The data are primarily collected with a web collection form through the data collection service of Itella Corporation. The conventional paper form is also available in case it is not possible to use the web form. The data from the municipalities and joint municipal boards of the Åland Islands are collected and processed by Ålands statistik- och utredningsbyrå.Data on the activities of social services are collected in Finland from all municipalities and the joint municipal boards which produce social services.
The collection of data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004). By virtue of Section 14 of the Statistics Act, notwithstanding the provisions on secrecy, local government authorities are obliged to provide Statistics Finland with data on their finances, products, locations of activities, as well as with data on the staff and other resources required in their activities.
The unit-level data of these statistics can be processed at Statistics Finland only by those employees participating in the compilation of the statistics in question. The data are protected against inappropriate use in accordance with the data protection regulations of Statistics Finland.Last updated 20.5.2013
