Statistics Finland collects data about the number of requests for payment, payment orders and payment orders subject to recovery issued by virtue of the Act on parking tickets (248/1970) and payment orders related to transfer and storage costs (Act on transfer of vehicles and destruction of scrap vehicles (151/1975)). Payment orders issued by the police should be given separately in the questionnaire. The data can be submitted either as an Excel file by email or on a paper form. The data have been collected since 1974.
The data are collected from the municipalities that have municipal parking control.
The obligation to provide data is based on the Statistics Act (280/2004). The data are used confidentially and only for statistical purposes. The data collected for statistical purposes are to be kept confidential by law.
