Statistics Finland and the Helsinki University Library signed an agreement on 1 June 2012 about co-operation in library and information services. Statistics Finland will open a service point in the new Kaisa House building of the Helsinki University Library in September.
The new Kaisa House service point will offer statistical information services, and guidance and advice in the use of research data, as well as organise events, briefings and training related to statistics.
Statistics Finland will be bringing its services into the midst of the people who need and use statistics, thus aiming to promote and support the use of statistics, and their utilisation in education, research and other development.
The extensive and unique collections of the Library of Statistics comprising printed statistics from Finland and other countries, as well as statistics of international organisations - the oldest dating back to the 18th century - will continue to be available at the premises of Statistics Finland in Helsinki's Kalasatama. The accessibility of old publications of Official Statistics of Finland is also being improved by digitising and making them freely available on the web.
The Kaisa House will be opened to the public at Kaisaniemenkatu 5, Helsinki, on 3 September 2012.
